During our visits to Italy in 2023 and 2024 we were stunned at how prevalent Proraso was and how discerning modern males are in the art of shaving. Proraso makes professional quality products for barbers, but also for home shaving rituals. After visiting a number of barber shops in Italy, we decided to introduce the product and complementary services into the salon.

Step 1: Preparation

It can not be overstated how important it is to prepare the skin for a successful shave. Creating a comfortable environment and checking for any sensitivities or potential irritations is our first point of call.

We move onto the treatment with Two Proraso Classics, the Sandalwood & Shea butter Pre-shave Cream and Shave soap. These deeply nourish, tone and hydrate the skin while your senses are soothed in rich, warm and woody aromas.

Pre-Shave Cream is applied to soften stubble and improve the skin's elasticity for a closer shave, followed by the shave foam then a hot towel to open the pores.

Shave Soap prepares for a smooth shave with a creamy lather while softening coarse or dry beards and the skin underneath.

With a pleasant massaging effect we then use a natural bristle brush which makes the skin ready for the blade to glide beautifully over it.

Step 2: The Shave

We start with First Pass, going with the grain. Then Second Pass, for a closer shave. If the skin is super sensitive we could stop at first pass.

Applying the cold towel helps to close the pores and give a refreshing feel.

The skin is then massaged with Proraso Beard Oil Wood & Spice, a nourishing oil that lightly hydrates the skin, preventing dryness and flakiness.

For a complete experience we layer with Proraso Wood & Spice Cologne to achieve a richer and long-lasting scent. 

The duo is applied at the end of our Italian Shave Treatment. These are also available to try and purchase in store.
